"MAY"HEM

Here is May and the beginning of June in a nutshell......hold onto your seats folks......

Friday before Mother's Day, Dad went into the hospital where he remained for a week with diverticulitis and a perforated colon.  I battled bronchitis and didn't get to even visit my Dad.  My sister also went to the hospital when she passed out while getting her haircut. I missed two days of work due to illness then an EF2 tornado hit our neighborhood....scary yet somewhat humorous post with pics will be up soon.  No power for about a day!  Dad and Sister got out of the hospital then I went to the ER because........I could NOT breath like thought I was going to die can't breath.  Now if that doesn't freak you out what will.  So Dad went to the cardiologist the following week to hear "Everything looks good.  There is one area of the heart that is not getting enough blood but I can give you a medication for that."  Ok things looking up right!

WRONG!

Dad started the new medication which apparently was supposed to start gradually even though this was not the directions from the cardiologist!  This made his blood pressure plummet and sent him to the hospital once again on Isaiah's birthday.  The same day Avani got second degree burns on her thigh and also went to the hospital.  My sister also went back to the hospital.  All three are out of the hospital for a few days.  My sister goes back into the hospital and has her gallbladder removed.  This was supposed to be the end of all the drama since May was finally over.

So we thought......then June rolled in!

Isaiah had to have oral surgery on June 1st.  A few days later Dad went to his primary care doctor for a routine visit BUT got sent straight to the hospital yet again to have a heart cath.  A day later the heart cath revealed a 90% blockage and they placed a 2nd stint.  I guess it is time for a new cardiologist since he totally missed the 90% blockage at Dad's appointment the month before and said, "Everything looks good!"

Last but definitely NOT least...

I go to Urgent Care because I got bit by a brown recluse....more on that later too...but to ease your fears my leg did not rot off!  Then nephew Logan goes to the ER twice in two days.  Then Avani damages a previous break in her wrist at my boys' birthday party (more on that one too!) and goes to the ER.  I am shooting for a peaceful July and starting it out with a mini vacation!  That should do the trick!

We don't plan on seeing the inside of the 4 hospitals and 2 urgent cares the family frequented anytime soon....although I guess we didn't plan any of those visits to begin with!!

A SLEEPOVER W/SPIDERMAN, A NINJA TURTLE AND A PIRATE?!?!

Today after the game we went to eat with my Sister and Logan. Logan wanted to spend the night so we obliged. The boys love playing with "Yogan" as Isaiah says his name. Leaving the restaurant to go get Tez from an Xbox tournament we got to listen to Elijah and Logan's conversations. I love listening to little kid's converse when they think no one is listening! It went a little something like this:

Elijah says, "Ok 1 +1 is 2, 2 + 2 is 4 and 10 + 10 is 20."
Logan soaks in the new knowledge and repeats each equation.
Elijah says, "20 + 20 is 40 and 100 + 100 is 200"
Logan then says very seriously, "Wow I am going to have to hang around you more often! You are really good at this stuff! (math) Now when someone asks me what 2 + 2 is, I will say 4."
This continued for a while and it was so cute!

We get home and they played my old Playstation 1 games for awhile. I don't like it when kids are addicted to videogames and it is very addictive but you can't get rid of Pac Man World, Frogger, Asteroids, Wheel of Fortune, Spyro, Mrs. Pac Man, Tarzan and more for this reason: you get to play the old time games WITH them - to teach them how of course!! It was then time to watch the instructional karate video which was a funny thing to watch!

They then decided to play dress up! Ha, yes boys can play however instead of princess dresses and fine jewels they are monsters, heroes or cowboys! They had so much fun! Spiderman and the Ninja Turtle wrestled for power of the house!

Can you see Logan's mohawk peeking over the mask?

Isaiah started to feel left out and threw on his pirate costume from last year but I somehow deleted that picture. OOPS! Then Logan and I were talking about something (can't remember what) when he said, "Wow Gigi you are REALLY smart!" With this comment I just had to call Lisa to tell her deep down I think he thinks he lives with idiots and we are really making them look bad! His comments about me and Elijah being so smart just cracked me up b/c he was SO serious! Finally after many hours of wrestling, jumping, running with Samson, video games, cars, playing board games, jumping on the bed (no no), Logan getting his leg seriously stuck between the slat and headboard of the bed (from said no no) and thinking I was going to have to amputate or break out the butter, Mommy decided it was definately movie time (bedtime). Knowing they were exhausted I just needed them to sit still for at least....hmmm....two minutes! lol Movie in, kids FAST asleep and of course all three of them wanted to sleep in one bed.......

This morning I woke up to Logan playing the guitar on FULL volume and Isaiah playing the keyboard with them both singing very loudly. Oh the joys of motherhood and being an aunt!!

ROCKETS OVER RHEMA

It's that time of year again - the 4th of July! For the past three maybe four years we have gone to Rhema for our big fireworks show. They have the blow up jupiter jump deals, pony rides, car show, concerts and a big display of fireworks - ALL FREE well except the pony rides! The kids love it and because it is a fairly new celebration in town it is less crowded than say for instance the river celebration. I have a feeling eventually it will be just as bad b/c each year more and more people are coming to Rhema. Everybody loves FREE fun for their kids! Anyhow..........we went last night and took my nephew Logan to meet up with my brother Curt and his wife Karen.

Wow Logan looks really white next to my boys!

Having fun in the jupiter jumps! See Elijah flipping while Logan & Zay jump!
The kids went on all of the blow up "rides and slides" then while they were riding the ponies my brother Rob and his family showed up. Martez and Tez went with the guys over to the car show while Karen and I reserved our prime fireworks viewing spot right next to the big playground where the kids played until the fireworks started.

Karen getting the kids to dance w/her during the concerts.

How cute are they?!?!?!

We had so much fun except for when we had to leave and the line out of the parking lot was horrendous! The boys were tired and covered with sand however that didn't inhibit the older boys from staying up until 2am. I now understand how my parents felt when my friends would spend the night. Logan spent the night with us and we got home about 11pm (way past their bedtime) and I sent them straight to bed BUT they just wouldn't stop talking.....until the duct tape......JUST KIDDING PEOPLE........I finally went to bed at 1:45am and gave up on them but I think they went to sleep shortly after that! Boy were they tired the next day at Meme's house! Your welcome Mom!

A TRIP TO THE ZOO

We went to the zoo yesterday and took my nephew Logan with us. My lower back was absolutely killing me but I don't like breaking promises to my children so I grinned and beared it. Elijah cracks me up. He is the kid that would rather watch National Geographic, Animal Planet or the Discovery Channel and he learns so much it is almost scary!! We'll walk to an animal and Logan would ask something and Elijah would start a small speech about each animals "natural predators", eating habits, habitat....and the list could go on and on. He says he wants to be a zookeeper and "a" Steve Irwin one day. Guess we'll see!
