- First and foremost I am thankful for my family. MY family made up of me and my six boys in the house (husbands, three boys and two boy dogs that I am unsure about on most days!). Yes I am outnumbered but I wouldn't have it any other way! I get to be the Alpha Female!! lol I also love my big, huge, sarcastic yet hilarious, perverted, bullheaded, loud, outgoing, playful, out-spoken, supportive, helpful, full of good cooks ~ beautiful family including my parents, Grandma, brothers, sister, their spouses, 3 nieces, 5 nephews, 2 new foster nephews, aunts, uncles and countless cousins! No we aren't the Ingalls or the Waltons but we love each other regardless. Some are easier to love than others (me~lol) and yes there are many times when we disagree but we still love each other and have a good time when we are together. Well at least I know I do!!
- I am thankful for a forgiving God because he knows I am not perfect and he loves me just the same.
- I am thankful the election is finally over and that is all I will say about that!
- I am thankful I am raising my kids in a time when their race is far more accepted than days past.
- I am thankful for my husband who knows me in and out with all (I mean one or two!) my flaws and loves me for who I really am! He changed my life for the better and I am truly thankful for each and every day we get to make each other smile. We are too funny! lol
- I am thankful Benjamin Franklin did not succeed in making the Wild Turkey the National bird b/c then I know I would not be able to eat turkey and I love turkey OH SO much!!
- I am thankful for my friends. My true friends! The ones who laugh at my jokes, respect my honest opinion even when they don't want to hear it, listen to my problems even when they are in a crisis and my problem may be tiny at the time but they care enough to listen, understand the concept of GIVE AND TAKE, give me an honest opinion even when I don't want it, love and respect me and my relationship with my husband and the ones who know me probably WAY too well but stick around for the long haul anyway!!
- I am thankful for my children that the doctors said I would never have! Guess all that schooling doesn't make you an expert!!
- I am thankful for pecan pie, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, broccoli casserole, chocolate layer dessert, Kristin making some sinfully delish oatmeal/pnut butter/chocolate chip cookies, rolls, pasta salad, the inventor of Snickers salad and last but not least Turkey and the tryptophan it supplies to put me fast asleep when I am done with this list!
- Last but not least I am thankful my three year old is finally asleep and I can crash for a few hours before BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING ON MY BIRTHDAY!

THURSDAY'S THANKFUL TEN

THURSDAY'S TEN
- Any trip by him to the grocery store will last four times longer than if I did it myself.
- He does not look at the price of anything
- Won't even glance at the generic
- Can't find anything and I spend his entire "quick run" to the grocery store on the phone with him directing him to each item like a freaking GPS navigator
- Says they are out of everything which just means he used his man eyes you know man eyes right - they just look in the general direction of an item never lifting anything it could be under or actually reading a label ....I could go on and on about man eyes
- He buys MANY items that are not on the "grocery" list like CDs, various new lotions to try for psoriasis, toys for the kids if he takes them and the list could go on and on
- He never looks at the aisle markers which list what the aisle contains but why would he with his wife on the phone directing the cart
- I ask him for one of something I get three....I ask for three and I get six. I ask for what I need don't add on to the grocery bill
- He came home two nights ago from a quick run aka hour trip with double stuff Oreos AND Soft batch cookies. I do not buy crap like that b/c I am fat enough without the stuff I actually enjoy and can't resist!! I do not buy cookies, ice cream or chips that I like so I won't eat any!
- He can't operate the little credit card thing and doesn't know his pin number so he always screws it up and flips out thinking our check card has been declined; therefore, calling me to again do the step by step directions!!
THIS is why I normally will ONLY send him to the grocery store for VERY basic items like bread, milk and eggs in a crunch!

THURSDAY'S TEN
My top ten can't miss TV shows thanks to insomnia and DVR!!
- John and Kate plus 8 ~ just love it and Isaiah is obsessed with it. He will watch "Don and Tate pwus 8" over cartoons and it is the one true thing to pull him out of a fit. Seriously he can be in the middle of a meltdown and the mere mention of the show will dry the tears right up!
- My ABC soaps ~ All My Children, One Life to Live and General Hospital ~I could look at the men on General Hospital all day! My husband is so good he has been watching them with me for almost 8 yrs now!! He also watches Lifetime Television for Women movies all on his own ~ that cracks me up!
- The Amazing Race ~ this is one of my absolute favs and I would love to be on the show with my brother Curt~ oooo I would go on Big Brother too!
- The Biggest Loser with a giant bowl of ice cream! Just kidding I don't buy ice cream but about twice a year b/c I love it! I would go on that show too but I would have to refuse the sports bra and spandex weigh-in attire!!!!
- Desperate Housewives
- Brothers and Sisters
- Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice and ER will all be counted as one for medical dramas to make my list appear shorter
- So you think you can dance ~ no not really I KNOW I can!!
- Psych ~ this show cracks us up!
- Burn Notice, Criminal Minds and CSI NY which will also be listed as one for crime TV!
- I have to add one more ~ America's Next Top Model ~ although Tyra gets on my nerves at times it amazes me how sometimes they will get some butt ugly girls on there and make their pictures beautiful
Now there are probably more that I watch but I am not considering them "must see TV" but lately with school activities, work, blogging, scrapbooking, football practice and games my DVR is full b/c I do not have time to watch TV without falling asleep! I really miss Friends, Will & Grace (I think it should have been called Jack & Karen!), Wildfire and believe it or not Cheers! I miss funny tv!

THURSDAY'S TEN.....OOPS TWENTY!
I love this movie and I still cry every time it ends and it still leaves you wondering!
Yep it's true my Mom got us addicted to Anne of Green Gables and ALL of the sequels and then Anne of Avonlea....hush!
I love Chris Farley - he reminds me of another love, John Candy! I realize many of his movies are outrageous and stupid but this movie cracks me up and I love to watch it with Tez. I must admit we laugh, rewind, laugh, rewind then reinact for more laughter!
Yep I know all the words to all the songs!
This movie still makes me cry but I get a little wierded out by Patrick Swayze using Whoopi's body
Not only do I like the movie but I love the soundtrack. I really like Julia so I must also include Pretty Woman, Steel Magnolias and I am sure others I can't remember right now
No one I know likes this movie in fact people will either not have even heard of it or make fun of me for liking it. But I love it! I actually watch it a lot because it cracks me up and again the boys esp. Tez will sit and watch it with me!
I still get goosebumps during Matthew's closing arguments when he says, "......now your close your eyes.....imagine it was your daughter.."
This makes me laugh and cry - those are the best!
I love the part when he is being transfered and uses the guard's face to hide his own and no one has a clue!
Don't ask I just like it!
Yet another one I watch with Tez and crack up too and yes another one that we laugh, rewind, laugh, rewind then reinact for more laughter! Phil Hartman was another one of favorite comedians - why are all the good ones dead?
Wow going to have to dig this one out!
Crack me up! Don't worry I don't watch this with the boys!!!
Makes me cry everytime!
Wow another one I will dusting off soon!
This movie used to drive me nuts when I was younger and my friend Brandy would watch it but now I think this movie just has a "special purpose"!
Last but not least I love both of these and they also still make me cry!
Oops......whoa.......ok so I just counted and due to the fact I got carried away...this week's Thursday's Ten has unknowingly become Thursday's Twenty BUT lucky for you I stopped and counted before it became Thursday's Thirty!! Your welcome! Until next time America....

THURSDAY'S TEN
- Be a Mom to a little girl - Oh how I would love dress up, dolls, tea parties and fixing her curly long hair! Not gonna happen!
- Natural child birth - One emergency and one scheduled c-section for me - well I would want as natural as it could be with an epidural :)
- Finish college
- Wear a bikini - Nope never been small enough to be comfortable in one! If only I had the body! Lucky for everyone else I am not a big girl who would blind onlookers with my white jiggly fat in a bikini b/c I don't like the rubberband around a pillow look!! You all know you've seen that look and thought "I know it's good to have confidence but it is also good to own a mirror and have some pride in your discretion!"
- Vacation somewhere tropical in that bikini body I want
- Drive a race car....oooohhhh.....that sounds fun!!
- I have never been totally caught up on my scrapbooks. Wow that would be a relief!
- Never been snowskiing but always wanted to (funny since my family in Iowa has had a ski resort since before I was even born!)
- Love my job - it would be easier for me to work everyday if I was doing something I loved or for that matter even slightly enjoyed!
- Lose the weight I want to lose AND keep it off longer than my average year

THURSDAY'S TEN
- Loose teeth and the pulling of loose teeth - ugh, ack! *gag*gag - seriously loose teeth freak me out!! I didn't mind as a child in fact like most children I sat wiggling them around with my tongue but now that I am an adult I can't stand it. I hate to see them wiggle, feel them wiggle and the mere thought of pulling them makes me want to vomit! Why? I don't have a clue but it was a serious gagfest as I tried to take pictures when my hubby pulled Elijah's first tooth! I am fine once they are out but the wiggling is *gag* creepy!
- SPIDERS!! I hate spiders! All spiders! Big, small, tiny, red, brown, black and hairy! I do not discriminate I will kill them without regret but I would much rather someone else kill them for me. I especially hate momma wolf spiders with hundreds of babies riding on their back......okay I am getting the willies! You will just have to read a few of prior blogs to understand that part. Read them in this order - Creepy Crawlies, Not Again and then My Panic Attack - apparently everyone besides me thinks they are funny. I think you all should know now b/c of our apparent colony of harmless yet aggressive, large and horny Wolf spiders and my immense fear of them, we now have a contract with an exterminator to get sprayed every 2 months!!!
- Walking into spiders webs b/c of number 2!!
- Roaches and large groups of ants - roaches should be self explanatory to most but they just disgust me and they are so fast. Sadly the rent house we lived in prior to buying our home was infested. I had exterminators out there many times but unfortunately the neighbors were fine with the nasty little visitors b/c they would never spray. One time the exterminator showed me a long line of roaches crawling to our house from their outside trash (they were some nasty people) and needless to say we gave our notice the next day b/c I could NOT live there. Ants, I know they are tiny, but large groups of ants give me the willies. Really people I am not a bug freak but not much else scares me!
- Touching anything in public restrooms! This one is next to impossible for me to avoid and I am fine as long as I don't think about it. The door handle, the door lock, the toilet handle (thank God for automatic flushing toilets!), my pants touching the floor, the sink handles, the paper towel handle................wow I am glad I didn't live in olden days! I would personally like to thank the person who invented automatic flushing toilets, sinks and paper towel dispensers - YOU ROCK!! Now if someone would just be smart enough to put an automatic DOOR on bathrooms that would be amazing!!
- Loogies - enough said! This can make me puke!
- Cleaning vomit with Qtips from tiny areas in car seats
- Smelling crap from other adults
- Mystery pieces of meat while eating at new Chinese restaurants my Dad wants to try. What can I say - I'm a texture girl! I finally told him I am fine with our "normal" Chinese restaurants but I will not EXPERIMENT again. He laughed until the last place where I TOTALLY lost control and had a laughing fit while HE got a taste of some mystery meat that looked like intestines from some kind of small animal!! The mere thought of that moment still makes me laugh!!
- The sound of my Dad rubbing his squeaky eye. I can't really explain this one but if you could hear it you get the heebie-geebies too! Right Melanie!
