GET A DIFFERENT NAME DAY ~ HELP ME OUT!

Friday is "Get a Different Name Day"
Hop on over to Holiday Insights and check out Bizarre and Unique holidays for February! Some of the quirky, unknown holidays out there crack me up!
For instance, today is Umbrella Day and although it has been raining we did not break out the umbrellas because when you live in Oklahoma aka Tornado Alley you know not to break out the umbrella's during a tornado watch! High winds and yes our first tornado watch of the year prevented breaking out the umbrella and letting the wind fly me to...oh let's say anywhere above 75 degrees would be great...ok I will get real ~ the umbrella couldn't possibly hold the weight of oh...any part of me! This is wear I tap the ruby slippers together and chant I don't want to be home, I don't want to be home! Quin where are you baby girl? I need to borrow your toddler sized ruby slippers!
Whoa...what happened! Back to topic.........
I have been thinking about assigning different names to my family simply for privacy reasons. I don't feel unsafe in the blogosphere but I would not forgive myself if something happened to one of my children b/c of my blogger addiction! That would be bad! Haven't decided yet BUT in honor of "Get a Different Name Day" coming Friday I thought I would ask ya'll what you think!
Any ideas? If you read my blog , you know somewhat about their personalities! Need help! Maybe I will think of some and do a poll but I have no ideas as of yet! Help me out girls!....and guys!

TWO CENTS ~ ROMANCE

I was invited to join Tutu's Bliss in Two Cents Tuesday so of course this just enables my blogging addiction so who I am to deny my addiction.

I am going to stick with her topic of romance which really made me think!

All too often the romance fades or the initial "honeymooners" definition of romance!

Our jobs, 3 boys, sports, homework, housework and life in general all seem to put the initial idea of romance on the back burner.

My Hubs is no longer the one to randomly go buy shoes, clothes, flowers and cards and although at times I miss these things I have accepted and embraced our new romance.

I am sure you all have it but don't realize it! Instead of griping about it just imagine if the "new" romance didn't exist.

Our new romance is

him holding my hand while he drives,

the smack on the butt anytime I bend over,

helping me and talking to me while we fold laundry,

the smack on the butt anytime I walk by,

the kiss he gives me each and every morning at 5am when he leaves for work and thinks I am asleep,

the smack on the butt not b/c it starts "anything" but just because he likes my big 'ol butt,

calling me each morning at 6am to make sure I am up and to tell me good morning,

cleaning up the dinner mess (occasionally),

picking up the boys everyday,

letting me sleep in on the weekends if it is at all possible,

alternating bath nights and believing me when I tell him it is HIS night when it is actually mine,

loving me regardless of my weight and my complaining about it,

running to the store on a moments notice,

learning and perfecting the fine art of sarcasm instead of letting mine eat him alive (he's getting a little too good now!),

laughing and saying "I just love you!" when he is annoyed,

watching the boys so I can go to crop for 12 hours,

tokens of affection (it amazes me how many married couples are affectionate)

not being able to stay mad at me for any real length of time because I can always prove I am right explain myself and move on to make him smile and laugh.....

I could go on and on and sure some of you will say he is supposed to do a lot of the things listed or that they aren't romantic BUT just think about all the people you know who take all those "little" things for granted and how miserable they are because to them romance is merely material things!

After 8 years, he still makes me smile and laugh everyday and I love to watch him with our children!

No our life isn't all roses (he doesn't get them much remember) but I have to take into account we are very busy right now with young children. Sure more nights out alone would be great and it's easy to take the little things for granted and shoot for the roses, dancing, dinner, movie, vacations but I love our life. I could go on and on about what he doesn't do but instead I choose to value his tokens of affection and appreciate them (at least until he sits on the couch while I walk by a million times during a cleaning session). I know far too many couples who nag about EVERY little thing and let the good pass them by unnoticed instead of appreciating them and they are completely miserable. I choose to accept our new definition of romance for the time being! I've had the material things and now they are gone! After the kids are gone *sniff sniff* and we have more money, then a good smack on the butt better be followed by a dozen roses, a cruise, purses, shoes..........and until then I accept the little things because imagine all the couples and single people who don't even have that!

Next time I am complaining about a missed Mother's Day gift, Valentine's gift or having to do EVERYTHING around here, will one of you please refer me to this post so I can remind myself of my appreciation and wisdom on my "new" romance!!

Thanks!

NOT ME! MONDAY

Time again for some confessions or NOT!

Join in the fun hosted by MckMama

I did NOT almost flip out at the Wal-mart Pharmacy on Friday and realize why I never used them in the first place. I did NOT want to hop over the counter and strangle the ignorant teenager and pharmacist helping me or should I say NOT helping me at all and making a five minute stop turn into a 45 minute torture session and for making me late to pick up my son! I will stop there b/c that is a post all in itself.

I did NOT get overly excited when our basketball team won their game Saturday with a score of 18 to 1 then run to hug my boy after the game because he scored 10 of those 18 points!!! I was NOT proud at all!

I did NOT get out of helping my MIL move by claiming to NOT feel good then take a much needed 3 hour nap with a certain 3 yr old! I would never do that! IF you only knew my MIL, you would know why I did NOT do this!! The SAD fact is she was probably more than happy my children and I were NOT there!

I have NOT become a carb counting fool thanks to my hubs recent diabetes diagnose and I certainly have NOT eaten any and all sugar I can get MY hands on due to panic over his recent diagnosis. I certainly would NOT do this.....well at least NOT in front of him!! For instance, I so did NOT rationalize eating a bowl of ice cream at 11pm that is rarely even in our home by staying up until 1am! Because that would have made it ok ~ right?!

I did NOT tell Hubs our marriage could be hazardous to his health. I did NOT tell him we probably can't get his sugar down on the count that I am just too sweet. I did NOT get overly offended while he laughed!

I do NOT periodically burst out laughing at the thought of Hubs claiming his "thyroid" hurts while he is hunched over rubbing his THIGH! You guys have got to go read this one, seriously it is too funny to pass up!!

In a hurry to get things done around the house, I did NOT tell Zay he was ok and to stop crying when he was injured only to see his face and shirt covered in blood moments later. I did NOT feel like the worst Mom ever once I realized in an effort to help ME he had fallen on cement and his tooth had gone clear through his bottom lip which was now a VERY LARGE bottom lip with a giant hole! Nope NOT me b/c I always tend to his numerous uncontrollable whimpers that fill my days! Since he is a cry baby I have learned it is easier not to cater to every single cry! This would put a damper on your Mom of the Year nods for me so I am glad this did NOT happen!

I did NOT fail to file the many piles of bills nor have I sorted out the medical bills in order to do our taxes. I have NOT done this because I am a procrastinator but instead I am willing to blame it on my remarkably bad and busy week so NOW I will NOT get to go shopping this week! *sniff*sniff!

I HEART FACES! ~ SILLY

Week 5: Silly

Silly is definitely a word to describe this boy! I found St. Patrick's Day hats at the Target Dollar Spot last year and they were too big for the boys but still adorable! His toothless smile made it even cuter! I played with the color on this one to get the greens to pop and although I could not seem to get it just how I wanted, it doesn't matter b/c it is just too cute!

FRIDAY HIGH FIVE

Time for Friday High Five! Come join in the fun....please!
Make a list of 5 things ~ ANY five things you want! 5 favorite things, Top 5 Vacation spots, 5 most embarrassing moments, 5 favorite pics, 5 reasons to not pick your nose......A LIST OF ANYTHING YOU WANT IT TO BE!
To see my Friday High Five posts for examples, click here!
Post about it, linking back to me then sign Mr. Linky! Please use the Friday High Five URL post in Mr. Linky's URL section instead of your blog URL and here is how: write the post, publish the post, go to edit posts, VIEW the High Five post, copy the URL in the address portion at the top of the screen then paste it in the URL section of Mr.Linky!! Sounds complicated but it isn't too bad! If you need help, let me know in the comment section! Go view all the other High Five posts (if anyone participates besides my niece and I) and comment away! Have fun!
5 Reasons I NEED to stay home this Friday on my day off!!
  1. My house needs to be cleaned! Vacuumed, mopped, dusted ~ the usual!
  2. I have to file the kazillion piles of unopened mail scattered throughout the house ~ you know the ones I have been talking about for a few weeks now that I have done absolutely nothing with besides complain....yep those! ~ so that I can get our taxes done! OH HOW I WOULD LOVE TO SPEND THE REFUND!
  3. I am so tired and stressed out! The past 8 days have been insane ~ just to recap.....Great Aunt died, my Dad who is also my boss has two kidney stones and has only worked 1 hour in the past 8 days, my Uncle who I also work with went to Iowa for the funeral, this tells you I worked extra last week, kids out of school 3 days due to ice storm aka Momma had temporary insanity, blogging, pickup and distributing basketball shirts to parents, Elijah's "friend" birthday party, went to see Walking with the Dinosaurs, Elijah got croup, brother-in-law had ER surgery to remove gallbladder, Hubs was diagnosed with diabetes and the doctor situation to be discussed later was a fiasco, blogging, basketball practice twice, reading blogs, scheduling diabetes education course and dietician appt, more drs appts, pharmacy runs, normal Mommy errands complete with school drop offs and pick ups, blogging, Mommy and Wife normal duties.....need I say more because I certainly can! I know my life is probably not any more hectic than any other Mom and Wife BUT THIS WEEK my friends just took a major toll on me and I need a break! Probably sick of hearing about it but it just seems neverending right now.....
  4. I want to curl up and sleep with absolutely NO interruptions! A good 12 hours should be sufficient!! Yea like that would happen!
  5. Because if I don't stay home then I have to go to the grocery store....dodododo.....I can not stand grocery shopping. So mundane! Grab items off shelf, put items in cart, put items on checkout belt, put bags into cart, put bags into truck, take all the bags into the house, unload every bag and touch each item for the hundredth time and put it away! Can't stand it so I will try my hardest to stay home! Hush you are ALL right ~ it'll never happen!
My friend Shan tagged me for a 5 Favorite things meme last week so this week since I am too stressed out to be creative and actually use my brain I am going to also use it as my High Five!
My 5 Favorite things!
  1. First of foremost the answer everyone would probably say is "family" I love my family dearly! I could get extremely mushy here but I will keep it simple and say I love my family...my entire family!
  2. I love pictures and take tons of them! I also love to scrapbook them!
  3. I love redecorating and organizing!
  4. I love to drive alone, music loud and sing my heart out....did I mention I like to go fast too! Shan I think it is definitely time for a ROAD TRIP! I LOVE LOVE LOVE TO TRAVEL!!
  5. I love to shop but I also love to find a good bargain! I come by that honestly through my momma!
  6. I love to laugh and I love sarcasm! Sarcasm oozes from my lips like breath....just like the rest of my family!

Short and sweet and to the point with one extra just for you Shan!!

Come on join in! Make it whatever you want ~ serious, funny, no photos, photos, sentimental, crazy ANYTHING GOES!!!

PHOTOSTORY FRIDAY: ANATOMY 101

Hubs needs a course to Human Anatomy pronto!! Hubs should not watch the news ~ any new medical info or tragic stories he wonders if he has it! Mild hypochondriac but at least he doesn't take it much past the fear stage. He doesn't go to get checked out for everything he sees but instead wonders! I just so happen to have a few examples that I am going to share with the entire blogosphere!!

Example #1
After watching the local news present a story about the trials of ovarian cancer we had the following conversation:

Hubs: Oooo Angela get off the computer and come look at this!

Me: What?

Hubs: It is a story on ovarian cancer.

Assuming he wants me to see the story for my own ovarian health, I turn blogger off *sniff*sniff* then join him in the living room to learn about his heart felt concerns for my health! We watch the story THEN HE SAYS:

Hubs: Wow that is terrible I hope I don't have that!
Me: Laughing too uncontrollably to talk, coughing, tears falling down my cheeks, more laughing and coughing!

Hubs: What's so funny? That is no laughing matter!

Me: I think the odds of you getting OVARIAN cancer is umm.....ZERO!!

Hubs: You don't know this!

Me: Yep just another case where I know I'm right since MEN DON'T HAVE OVARIES!!!
Lesson #1

Men do not have

Example #2

Before he was actually diagnosed (by someone other than his wife who told him he had diabetes for almost 3 months) with diabetes, he was having random sharp or shooting pains. We later found out this was part of the diabetes and nothing to worry about but before our fears were calmed he constantly wondered what they were. Obviously he wasn't worried enough to seek medical advice but hey he is a man after all! One evening it went a little something like this:

Hubs: Ouch! Man that hurt!
Loving amazing wife aka me: What's wrong?

Hubs: What did it feel like when YOU had appendicitis?

Loving amazing wife aka me: Why? Where are you hurting?

Hubs pointing to his left side by his ribs: Right under here!

Loving amazing wife aka me: Well I am not sure what exactly is hurting you but it's not your appendix.

Hubs: You think you know everything!

Loving amazing wife shows off anatomical knowledge: Well since your appendix is on the LOWER part of your torso on the RIGHT I am about 100% sure YOU do NOT have appendicitis BUT if YOU need to see MY appendectomy scar to be sure then go right ahead or better yet go to the hospital holding your left chest area and tell them you think you have appendicitis. I will take you personally just to see the look on their faces!!!

Lesson #2

Your appendix is located here

Example #3

The most recent and most hilarious to me

Yesterday while waiting to be called at the doctor's office he leans to me and says, "Someone mentioned I should have my thyroid checked out too. Does that have something to do with diabetes?" I say, "I don't think so but I don't know much yet so I am not sure."

Fast forward to later on into the evening!

Hubs has been sitting on the couch then falls asleep. He gets up to go to bed and leans over saying, "OH WOW MY "THIGH"ROID HURTS!"

I look at him bewildered and concerned to see him bent over holding and massaging his THIGH!!

Laughter, coughing, crying and gagging ensues!

Hubs: It's not funny! It really hurts! (while still rubbing his thigh with his face straining)

Me: Laughter, coughing, crying and gagging continues to the point that I have to leave the room because I can't bear to look at him without laughing. I am unable to utter a single word!!

Hubs: As serious as can be....I don't see what is so funny! We should have had the new doctor check my thyroid!....while still rubbing his thigh.

Me: Still laughing and trying to catch my breath.

Hubs: You are starting to tick me off! What is so freaking funny!

Me: Unable to speak for quite sometime!

Hubs goes to bed upset ~ now he knows better than that!!

Me: Random laughter at the thought of his "thigh"roid pains and leg rubbing hops onto the computer

Hubs: Can you tell me now why my serious thyroid pain was so humorous?

Me: Your thyroid is NOT in your THIGH.....laughter...... it is in your neck/throat area!

Lesson #3

The thyroid is located here

Being the helpful, loving and concerned wife that I am, I will not allow this to continue. So in an effort to help educate Hubs on anatomy, I am about to go into the living room to assist in Anatomy 101 with our loving friends from

I know, right!! Wife of the year!!!

A THOUSAND WORDS THURSDAY: HIS SPECIAL SMILE

January 2007 - I love this boy! He thought he was being sneaky like somehow we could not see him standing on the coffee table ~ so proud! Most people don't notice it but his smile is crooked! People who notice it just think it is a cute trait; however, during my c-section they somehow pinched a nerve in his face. My Mom and Sister kept telling me his right eye and mouth did something weird when he cried but I didn't see it for a bit. The doctor said it would go away as he got older. His eye did get better but he is left with a crooked smile. It makes him special, different and beautiful! I think it reveals his orneriness! I love his crooked smile and wouldn't change him for the world!

WRITER'S WORKSHOP WEDNESDAY

Writer's Workshop Wednesday
my pick ~ the easy way out~
10 THINGS ON MY MIND THIS WEEK
  1. Will I ever get the mound of bills scattered in a thousand piles throughout the house filed? I never open mail! I pay all of our bills online and never open them. They just sit in random piles everywhere. I need to sort, file then organize all the medical and daycare bills so I can do our taxes!

  2. My husband found out last Friday he is diabetic and yesterday we got in to see one of the top diabetes Doctors in the state! Thank you God for an answer to our prayers! Although we have so much more to learn, we understand so much more after seeing the new doctor. Cooking, grocery shopping, counting carbs, adjusting insulin, making sure he is not in a coma.....yep those are all on my mind this week!

  3. I really need my Dad to get better and pass his two kidney stones so he can get back to work! My desk looks like his aka a disaster and it needs to be cleaned! His desk ~ NO hope! My phone calls have quadrupled and I am too stressed out and tired to deal with it all right now!

  4. Can Friday ~ my day "off" ~ ever really be just for me? Just once?

  5. Will I ever get to scrapbook again? Will we ever eat at the kitchen table again thanks to the loads of scrapbooking supplies that took it over? Will I ever get a craft room?

  6. How long before I am out of a job? Dad retiring? Shutting down? Buyout? When? What will I do? Where will I go? I will never find the flexibility I have now!!

  7. Did I bite off more than I can chew when creating the school recycling program and volunteering to organize and run the project? Where will I ever find the time? Probably Friday!!

  8. Why can't public school start at around....oh let's say 10:30 - 11ish?!?!?

  9. If I let Moose out the side gate, would he run away or stick around? Just kidding ~ well kind of! I know, I know that was awful BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO LIVE WITH HIM!

  10. How much does a maid cost? I CAN'T KEEP UP!!!

Go on over to Mama's Losin' It and join in Writer's Workshop Wednesday!

You know you want to try it!

25 RANDOM THINGS, FACTS, GOALS AND HABITS

So I keep getting tagged for some 25 Random Things, Facts, Goals and Habits thing on Facebook. Yes I am on Facebook BUT I hate it!! I love Blogger and I love Myspace BUT Facebook is too freaking hard and very very annoying. Someone sends you a "drink, a hug, a present, join this, join that, here is what everyone of your friends is doing this very second, so n' so peed at 5am".....I don't care!! Don't get me wrong I love finding out about old friends and I LOVE talking to them, reminiscing and laughing at them but Facebook is too complicated and cluttered for me! Get me on Myspace or Blogger and I can bee bop around like no other but put me on Facebook and I am annoyed in about 5 seconds. It took me a couple of days to even figured out I was tagged by about 5 people and what a "note" and where was I "mentioned" ~ huh! I finally figured out "mentioned" is "tagged" so rather than do all of that I brought it over here!! No offense to all of you Facebook addicts who can bee bop around but I just don't get it. I wish I could get my Facebook messages to transfer to my Myspace b/c I love me some Myspace although Blogger has pretty much replaced all other obsessions! lol

SO AFTER ALL THAT JABBER......HERE WE GO...

25 RANDOM THINGS, FACTS, GOALS AND HABITS
for Rachel and Jen and the other Facebookers who will have to come here to read my "note" b/c it wasn't working for me on Facebook tonight...way too slow for some reason
  1. I twirl my hair when I am bored or anxious. There are two tiny sections of hair on either side of my head that get bad split ends b/c of this habit and I pick those out when I am anxious also! Wait can that count as two?
  2. I LOVE DVR! I know that is bad and I probably watch too much television but I am an insomniac and television addict! I would NEVER EVER get to watch shows if I had to watch them when they are actually on...HELLO....I have 3 boys, hubs and two dogs! I have to have quiet and be able to fast forward through commercials! Now that I have it I can imagine life without it. It's funny if we travel we constantly try to fast forward and rewind when we watch TV and Isaiah gets so mad at his Meme and Papa because they watch commercials!!
  3. I type extremely fast! I have worked on a keyboard over half of my life and I am a typin' momma! Seriously sometimes I see smoke rise from the keyboard from the speed at which my fingers glide around!!! Let me believe it OK!
  4. I love pictures! Any pictures but especially pics of my kids! You see me then you see my camera! I would love to dive into professional photography after taking some photography courses, of course!
  5. I love to scrapbook!
  6. One of my goals this year is to get totally caught up on my scrapbooking! Wish me luck! I really wish I had a craft room!
  7. I hate my teeth! People really tell me all the time that I have pretty teeth and I often wonder if that is some cruel type of reverse psychology because I hate my teeth! I want invisalign really bad!
  8. My eyesight is horrible! When I take out my contacts, my glasses better be right there or I will never find them! Blind I tell you! I started wearing glasses in 3rd grade and had bifocals in 4th grade. I actually taught my parents how to read with bifocals when I was 10 since they got theirs after me! Awww....I know! Pity me blogosphere! lol
  9. I love to drive! I love my car! Materialistic....whatever....I just love my car! BUT I get road rage! Idiots should not be permitted to drive I tell you! Careful I will follow you home!
  10. I love to sing but I think I am horrible! Hubs and the boys think I sing great but I think they have horrible hearing or they are tone deaf! I KNOW MARTEZ IS TONE DEAF!! That man could not sing to save his life! Or Dance either...he is one Black man that CAN NOT catch a beat!! Nonetheless I love to sing and I can belt out a tune like no other when the radio is LOUD and I am ALONE in the car!!
  11. I hate having my picture taken! Double and triple chins are NOT attractive thankyouverymuch!!
  12. I am double jointed ~ fingers, toes, knees! Yep definitely random thing there huh! This is a lot harder than it sounded!
  13. I wish I had a King Size Snickers right about now! I love those addictive bad bad bars of goodness! Single handedly the only reason I am overweight! Quiet now~!
  14. I wish I had more friends and more girly time!
  15. I am an insomniac and I hate...wait...I abhor mornings!!! I LOVE TO SLEEP!! It takes me FOREVER to fall asleep but once I am out..........
  16. I love all things baby! Their smell, total trust, unconditional love, tiny baby feet, fat fingers, fat thigh rolls, smiling while sleeping, giggling, cooing and all their first moments....I would have several more if I didn't have to have c-sections! WELL AND if Hubs wasn't "fixed"!! Ha!
  17. I have worked since I was 10 yrs old. My parents owned their own business and I worked before AND after school! I feel like I missed out on a whole lot of my childhood but I have moved on from there! I still work for them and I HATE IT! Love the perks but I need to move on. I really should NOT have included this one b/c I could go on and on and on and on.....get the pic...!
  18. Wow....25 huh....getting a little desperate here! Help me out someone! I can't stand my husband's snoring! I must kick him...wait...lightly pat him a million times a night! I honestly don't know how he does NOT wake himself up! If Moose our bulldog is in the room, Lord help me!
  19. I miss our cats and I miss my Daisy! I can NOT stand our dog Moose! He stinks! He drools! He snores! He eats anything and by anything I mean absolutely ANYTHING he can get his grubby little jaws on!! Shoes ~ check! Books ~ check! Any unattended plate of food ~ check! Trash ~ check! Plastic toys ~ check! Metal toys ~ check! Humidifiers and their filters ~ check! Get the point ~ you better! YES I buy him toys and chew things but hey he leaves those outside and he is too darn lazy to go get them!!
  20. Dude I am seriously struggling here! Please wait while I go switch the laundry loads and get a drink.....ok back......I have a disorder called RAD and it isn't RAD at all! I gag all the time! Cold air in the mornings ~ gagfest! Hubs blows his nose ~ gagfest! I walk in while hubs is pooping ~ gagfest! Bursts of wind especially in winter ~ SERIOUS gagfest!! Seriously folks I will gag until I vomit sometimes ~ pretty much most winter mornings I will be gagging at some point!
  21. I am always right! IF you think I am wrong, keep it too yourself and THINK AGAIN b/c I will end up being right!!
  22. People tell me I am funny and I believe it! Conceited ~ no just confident! I crack myself up all the time! Come on guys if you don't laugh at yourself then you will just be a bundle of nerves!
  23. I wish I could knit. I always wanted to learn from my Grandmother but now her hands are in horrible shape and she can't teach me! :(
  24. The smell left after frying food will make me sick and you guessed it gag! Don't get me wrong I love fried chicken, fried pork chops, you name it BUT the smell left in the house is awful and I HATE IT so I never fry anything at home!
  25. I love to shop but unless I am buying scrapbooking stuff or home decorating items I NEVER end up buying anything for myself especially clothes! I hate shopping for clothes for obvious reasons! I am a big girl and it ticks me off to go shopping! Attention "big girl" clothes designers: Not all "big girls" have big boobs so the little dart things in shirts make it next to impossible for me to buy shirts that fit properly and I want TRUE straight leg jeans not ones that go out half a foot in the hips then in then down! Did that make sense? Help a girl out!

WOW finally! Boy guys that was HARD!

I HEART FACES ~ PETS! THE EYES HAVE IT!

Week 4
"Anything goes"

I've posted this picture before on my blog~ probably a couple of times BUT
I LOVE IT!
AND DAISY HEARTS FACES or LICKED THEM!!

RIP SWEET BABY GIRL!

I HEART FACES! ~ THE EYES HAVE IT!

Week 4

"The Eyes Have It"

May 2007

Taken after arriving home from his 2nd birthday party and he was all tuckered out!

WALKING WITH THE DINOSAURS

I live in a house full of boys!

What do most boys love?

Cars, trucks, balls, sports, trains, planes, video games, bugs, animals

and don't you forget

DINOSAURS!!!

Elijah is a nature freak ~ all things science and nature = his loves!
He loves to watch National Geographic and Animal Planet!
I know you Non-TV watching parents are shutting up right about now because at least those are educational channels! Mmm...hmmm....

What have they been advertising non-stop for months?

Walking with the Dinosaurs Live!

at the new BOK Center here in Tulsa

This means?

I've been asked 5 billion, 651 million, 500 thousand times if he could go Walking with the Dinosaurs. I planned to take him the entire time but I did not want to commit in case something came up and I did not want to disappoint him by backing out! If I commit to something with the boys, then I follow through! The tickets were expensive and finally Saturday around 11pm I go online to buy tickets for Sunday's show ~ the LAST one here! I did not tell him until about 11:30am Sunday so he wouldn't ask me every 5 seconds if it was time to go!

It was a date ~ JUST me and my baby!

I don't claim favorites but Elijah and I have a very special bond and I couldn't wait for Elijah and Mommy time!

IT WAS AMAZING!

HOW they made those dinosaurs just boggles my mind?

So lifelike!
So so so HUGE!
So loud!

I can't believe how in AWE I was at how well BBC did with this production!

If it comes anywhere even near you, then you need to take your kids! Elijah is 7 and he loved it. I think Isaiah will be ready in a year or even two. I am sure he might have liked it now at age 3 BUT he would have been ready to leave at intermission. It is awesome, amazing, educational and probably too long, serious and loud for kids under at least 5 BUT every child is different! Good pictures were few and well....okay I never really got GOOD pics because they didn't allow flash photography and BOY did they have "flash photography" police on hand. Those little aisle monitors were running around like crazy telling people to turn off their camera flash.

HE LOVED IT!

Momma and baby Branchiosaurus

Stegosaurus
THEN

dodododo dodododo
{{insert scary music}}

the most famous and recognizable dinosaur of all

the T-REX

DUN DUN DUN

{{MORE scary music}}

I know, I know the pics just don't do this show justice but I did happen to take many illegal videos also and happened to download one here on blogger for your viewing pleasure:

Shhhh.....don't tell!
Take your kids if it comes near you!
