WORLD'S DEADLIEST SPIDER MAKES ME BANANAS

Recently while entering to win many and by many I actually mean TOO many giveaways during the SITS Spring Fling, I came across an Eco-friendly item I really wanted. Through research I found out I could buy it at Whole Foods here in Tulsa. That was the plan since I never win anything....ooo wait I did actually win one of the giveaways but I'll get to that later. Originally I wanted to go the other evening and it is a good thing I did not!!! I decided to wait until Friday when I do most of my errands.
OH. MY. GOODNESS!!

I am so so so so so so so glad I did not go!
I can't even imagine my reaction!
Later that evening while Martez went walking, I decided to watch the news. I watch the news occasionally but mostly just for the weather since all the other crap is just depressing.
Chills ran up my spine as the top story appeared and a local TU professor proceeds to let his ENORMOUS
HUGE
HAIRY
LEGS AS BIG AROUND AS FINGERS
TARANTULA
UGH
GAG
out of its cage to crawl up his arm!
WHY?
Then I couldn't believe my ears as he says TO THE SPIDER,
"Comere (as in come here) Cuddles!"
CUDDLES?
SERIOUSLY?!?!
The spider then crawls up his arm as he is talking about the World's Deadliest Spider ~ the Brazilian Wandering Spider aka the Banana Spider ~ that was found AT the Whole Foods I was supposed to be buying my Eco-friendly products I so wanted.
So I think I will live without the products or order online!
I will not be visiting Whole Foods anytime soon!
And as far as I am concerned I will not be buying bananas!
Isaiah LOVES bananas and will eat many during the day
SO
Hubs will have to be the banana-buyer-extraordinaire since I don't know if grocery stores would allow me to enter in full body armor!
Some of you may think I am going overboard but if you know me at all you know
I HATE SPIDERS!
You can read my funny encounters with the demon spawn here!
In my mind the story would have gone a little like this if I would have been there:
Our top story tonight is about the near death of a woman at a local grocery store. The lady was seen walking the store when she stopped to pick up some bananas. She screamed at the top of her lungs while running, jumping and flailing her arms about yelling for someone to get "it" off of her. Thinking the woman was having a mental breakdown the crowd stood still. Suddenly the woman was gasping for air and holding her throat. EMSA arrived to find the woman having a panic attack with a spider lying next to her. The evil spawn limped over to the woman, bit her on the arm then died. Turns out the spider was harmless but scared and as the saying goes, "Sometimes they are more scared of you then you are of them!"
In this case, she SCARED the spider to death!
So SEE sometimes overreacting is GOOD!!
Needless to say I was rather excited to see the news the following evening when they aired this update.
Take that you nasty demon spawn you!!!!

THURSDAY'S TEN

TEN THINGS THAT GIVE ME THE HEEBIE-GEEBIES:

  1. Loose teeth and the pulling of loose teeth - ugh, ack! *gag*gag - seriously loose teeth freak me out!! I didn't mind as a child in fact like most children I sat wiggling them around with my tongue but now that I am an adult I can't stand it. I hate to see them wiggle, feel them wiggle and the mere thought of pulling them makes me want to vomit! Why? I don't have a clue but it was a serious gagfest as I tried to take pictures when my hubby pulled Elijah's first tooth! I am fine once they are out but the wiggling is *gag* creepy!
  2. SPIDERS!! I hate spiders! All spiders! Big, small, tiny, red, brown, black and hairy! I do not discriminate I will kill them without regret but I would much rather someone else kill them for me. I especially hate momma wolf spiders with hundreds of babies riding on their back......okay I am getting the willies! You will just have to read a few of prior blogs to understand that part. Read them in this order - Creepy Crawlies, Not Again and then My Panic Attack - apparently everyone besides me thinks they are funny. I think you all should know now b/c of our apparent colony of harmless yet aggressive, large and horny Wolf spiders and my immense fear of them, we now have a contract with an exterminator to get sprayed every 2 months!!!
  3. Walking into spiders webs b/c of number 2!!
  4. Roaches and large groups of ants - roaches should be self explanatory to most but they just disgust me and they are so fast. Sadly the rent house we lived in prior to buying our home was infested. I had exterminators out there many times but unfortunately the neighbors were fine with the nasty little visitors b/c they would never spray. One time the exterminator showed me a long line of roaches crawling to our house from their outside trash (they were some nasty people) and needless to say we gave our notice the next day b/c I could NOT live there. Ants, I know they are tiny, but large groups of ants give me the willies. Really people I am not a bug freak but not much else scares me!
  5. Touching anything in public restrooms! This one is next to impossible for me to avoid and I am fine as long as I don't think about it. The door handle, the door lock, the toilet handle (thank God for automatic flushing toilets!), my pants touching the floor, the sink handles, the paper towel handle................wow I am glad I didn't live in olden days! I would personally like to thank the person who invented automatic flushing toilets, sinks and paper towel dispensers - YOU ROCK!! Now if someone would just be smart enough to put an automatic DOOR on bathrooms that would be amazing!!
  6. Loogies - enough said! This can make me puke!
  7. Cleaning vomit with Qtips from tiny areas in car seats
  8. Smelling crap from other adults
  9. Mystery pieces of meat while eating at new Chinese restaurants my Dad wants to try. What can I say - I'm a texture girl! I finally told him I am fine with our "normal" Chinese restaurants but I will not EXPERIMENT again. He laughed until the last place where I TOTALLY lost control and had a laughing fit while HE got a taste of some mystery meat that looked like intestines from some kind of small animal!! The mere thought of that moment still makes me laugh!!
  10. The sound of my Dad rubbing his squeaky eye. I can't really explain this one but if you could hear it you get the heebie-geebies too! Right Melanie!

THE ITSY BITSY SPIDER....NOT IN MY EYES

Well I finally decided to break out the winter clothes and pack up the summer clothes. I have three plastic rolling stackable bins in our closet so we can store them under our hanging neatly and out of the way! In my mind the boxes should remain moth and spider free but no such luck. I took down all the summer clothes, folded them and stacked them on the closet floor so I could take out the winter clothes and hang them up. Well I sit on the floor, pull out the bin and begin sorting when out of the corner of my eye I see what to most would appear to be an itsy bitsy spider.....not to me. In my eyes I see a spider looking at me as the murderer of all its forespiders and their evil spawn so I jump around searching for something to kill with and scream for fear it will hide and I will not be able to finish trading out the seasonal clothes. I successfully kill the spider before it hides and anxiously complete the switch. Why is a woman my size so afraid of the itsy bitsy spider? Hell if I know I just am ok....seriously frightened!! So afterwards I am sorting through a mound of papers and carry them to put in the trash, set them on the counter and out crawls a spider. Needless to say I was done cleaning for the week!

TULSA'S TWO MISSING LITTLE GIRLS

Sunday started off to be a good day but went downhill in a fury that made me do some thinking. We went to the aquarium for a birthday then went out to eat. Just when we got home began to relax Chaitra called but when I went to answer she hung up. Next thing I knew someone was knocking at the door and Martez, who was sleeping on the couch, said it was Chaitra and her mom walking in the house. Well all I hear is a girl who was not Chaitra's mom but Erin from down the street asking Martez if he has seen "two little black girls". By this I was thinking she wanted to beat someone up in her ghetto ways. However this was not the case in fact two little girls named Erica, who is 11, and Rosaia, who is 5, were missing. They only live about a block from my house and had been missing for about 6 hours and because of the whole "Broken Arrow Angel" issue there was a panic. Next I must tell you about my six degrees of separation marvel. Ever since I joined MySpace I am amazed at how true the theory actually is and how it pertains to people I know on myspace and in my overall life so I must tell you:

1) Martez has been friends with Tristan for years and now he lives down the street with Erin his girlfriend

2) Chaitra and I have been friends for about 10 years

3) Chaitra goes to Nursing school with Erin

4) Erin is friends with Andrea

5) Andrea is Rosaia's mother and Chaitra is Avani's mother

6) Avani and Rosaia went to daycare and preschool together for years
Odd I know....dodododododo........happy Halloween affect!

Rosaia was at Erica's grandma's house where Erica's grandma was SUPPOSED to babysit her. Erica's grandma left to go only God knows where telling the girls to stay inside the house. To her surprise the girls and the bikes were gone when she returned home. She wasn't really worried when she got home figuring they were just riding bikes just up and down the block since they never go far but when they didn't return for hours she started to worry and decided to call the police SIX HOURS LATER!!!!!!!! This is where we come in. We all hop in a car and go over to the house and ask the police what we can do to help. At five o'clock they tell us they are "working" on an Amber Alert, trying to get the news crews and police helicopters on the scene. They were asking people to comb the streets, knock on doors, drive around yelling out the girls' names and go into the woods. We got to go into the woods first- YIPPEE! Not too bad I am a country girl at heart and I can handle it!! We tell the Grandma we will be in the woods and to call Erin if she hears anything! The Grandma replies with "Thank you, I think I am starting to get worried!" Chaitra and I just looked at each other. We get into the car where I just flip out!! That bitch is crazy - you didn't lose your keys woman you managed to misplace two irreplaceable children"I THINK I AM STARTING TO GET WORRIED" AFTER TWO LITTLE GIRLS HAVE BEEN MISSING FOR SIX HOURS! You have got to be joking. If my five year old son Elijah was missing and not answering for even a couple minutes I would "start" to worry!! After ten minutes I would be like a chicken running around with my head cut off screaming for him to please stop playing and come out of hiding because mommy was scared. After twenty minutes I would be screaming his name everywhere, calling the police, running up and down the street or wherever and calling everyone I know to help me look --- ALL AT ONCE! (I am a great multitasker especially in a rush!) After six hours I wouldn't have any worries at all because I would be sedated in a mental hospital from a psychotic breakdown at just the mere thoughts that would takeover my mind about my baby boy or in a jail facility for killing the bitch who was supposed to watch my child and left him at home with an obviously irresponsible 11 year old. If Andrea wanted to let Erica watch Rosaia then she wouldn't have even asked the Grandma to watch her. That was obvious to me but obviously not the Grandma I guess she had more important things to do. Well we searched the woods and creeped ourselves out when we found pink clothes. We thought for sure the worst imaginable thing had happened so who did they send in to see what it was -me. I figured it was better off since I didn't actually know the girls maybe it would be better if I found a bad outcome rather than them. Turned out to be a pink blanket not clothes, a ratty old nasty pillow, blue battery-powered alarm clock, a ramen noodle package, 3 very old books and a pair of men's shoes that belonged to some homeless man living in the woods by my house. Nice to know! As I am telling Chai and Erin what I found they are just standing there crying at the mere idea of what we could have found so I tried to stay as positive as possible. Where exactly does a homeless man need to be that he has an alarm clock? We then found what appeared to be another small village of homeless people living in the woods. Clothes hanging all over trees, empty canned food items everywhere, burnt book pages for warmth and the list could go on and on. Guess whose children will never play in the woods - sorry Avani, Elijah, Isaiah, and little Tristan no wandering in the woods for you EVER!! Well we made it to the other end of the woods and after pulling wire out of my flip flop and tiny ticks off of our legs- YES MELANIE I was wearing flip flops in the woods I didn't think to change shoes or clothes in my mad dash to join the child search - we went back to the house to get an update. I kept saying are we sure they have called everyone and they kept telling me yes. When we get there more cops are searching the neighborhood and people were everywhere looking in yards, yelling and knocking on doors. Now to me some of this did not make sense and I just kept saying they had to be lost and at times Chai would agree with me and then just make up another scenario. Here was mine - They were fine but lost or afraid of getting in trouble so they didn't want to come home because if someone was going to kidnap a little girl I see a big problem with this particular chain of events. No one has seen the girls or the bikes. If someone is going to take both girls (which is highly unlikely), not be seen and get away fast why would he take the time to take the bikes. Just more evidence. Plus how would he keep both the girls in the car without hurting them and causing a scene in order to load the bikes. It just didn't make sense to me! If you were going to snatch a kid you only take one, the smallest no accessories and get outta dodge, right? We have all watched enough crime shows and that was the only funny part of all of this was each of us saying....."well on CSI"....."chances are if they aren't found in the first 24 hrs then it isn't a live outcome" - Without a Trace.....we went on and on. Once we realized we were doing it we laughed and thought we would make some pretty good detectives. When we returned back to the house Andrea was there and understandably an emotional wreck. She had been searching and calling everyone. There was a group of about 10 people just calling people which made me nervous. By this time all the close friends and family had been called so now they were just grasping at straws. At 6:30 pm the infrared police helicopters finally showed up and flew over the neighborhood. Here's the thing they only flew over our neighborhood. I would be raising hell. Why would the helicopter only fly over our neighborhood and still no breaking news or Amber Alerts? What's the point? I don't think people realize how many wooded areas are around us for miles even in neighborhoods. Well we drove around, yelled and walked for hours. Oh yeah forgot to tell you a funny part. We went down this old dirt road which was unnerving and got to a point where they were scared and wanted to turn around. I love scary stuff well except spiders! Anyway they said this looks like someplace a person could get killed my answer was exactly that is why we are out here!!! The fraidy cats decided to turn the car around. They said aren't you scared. My answer maybe a little anxious but a killer would have two big girls me and Chai so he would probably just take Erin. (Just so you know Chai and Erin are mulatto) Erin replies with hey don't you watch scary movies they always kill the black people first. My answer - hey Erin can I have your shoes please! She asked why and I said "Well I am going to make sure he knows you and Chai are half black and chances are he will take you first since you are a smaller easier grab so I will need your shoes to run faster since I won't be able to go as fast in flip flops!" Chaitra and I were cracking up then we were back in reality searching some more! We couldn't think of anything else to do and wanted to give up and go home since it was getting darker but then one of us would say what if it were our kids. At almost 9pm we took Erin home, went back over to Erica's grandmas house and it was packed with cars and there was finally a news truck. We wondered what channel it was so I was chosen yet again to walk up and look. I told her it was Channel 8 and asked a group of people nearby if there was any news on the girls. THEY FOUND THEM! I just started crying - the longer we searched the more my positive outlook downgraded to a grave possibility. I was so happy! When I asked if they were okay the guy I was talking to said a bunch of crap that made ABSOLUTELY NO sense!!!! He said they went with some girl they ride bikes with to 51st and Harvard. I said so where are their bikes he said "they rode them and I'm not going to be covering for nobody there are cops everywhere". I don't think he spoke one complete sentence or idea he just kept hopping around like a frog on hot cement!! Gee I think he may have known more than he was telling because I did not ask him if he was going to cover for anyone! I went home and waited for the news to see what they would say. Here is the Channel 8 story: "Tulsa Police searched for two missing Tulsa girls for hours this evening. The girls were finally found at a family friend's house and told to ride their bikes home. No charges have been filed in this case." WHAT THE HELL!!!! That is soooooo far from the truth! Here is the supposed story from later on that evening. Someone called the police saying they had the girls at 51st and Yale supposedly riding their bikes. They had "gone to LaFortune Park to watch some game"! All I can say is I hope Andrea somehow got the truth later because I know for a fact my five year old son cannot ride his bike 10 miles. Crap he can barely ride to the park in our neighborhood without complaining and she is a lot smaller than him!!! Why would they need to go to La Fortune when we have a park in the neighborhood? And how the hell did the 11 year old know how to get to La Fortune from this neighborhood. I know kids now how to get to places or where things are but generally they are places they go daily, family or friends houses and generally you are already near there. Elijah is able to tell me where lots of stuff is if we are in the general vicinity but not 10 miles away and he has been doing that for years. Granted he could probably drive to my mom's but I just don't see it especially on a bike and she is only about 7 miles from here. They were not at a family friends house and what kind of friend would tell them to ride home at 9pm for 10 miles. Plus if it was a family friend I am quite sure they would've called them or been called after almost 10 hours. People were on the phones non stop and I am quite sure the people who you allow to pick up your children would be the first ones called!!!! Someone had them that wasn't supposed to and they were trying to cover their butt. The news said they rode their bikes home which they didn't the police had to pick them up to question them and they still didn't get home until almost 11pm. VERY VERY LONG STORY SHORT this was one of those nights that make you truly appreciate your children and your friends and thank God that nothing disastrous has happened to them. I do not know how I would live knowing my child was just missing and if anything happened I just................well I am crying now so I am going to stop!! I will let you all know when I finally hear what truly happened to these two girls!!

JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL

I forgot to tell you all about our near death experience on the highway. I didn't tell anyone since he didn't want hear about it all weekend but my hubby almost killed us by falling asleep while driving on Wednesday night! He had been up since 5am Wednesday morning and we left Tulsa around 6pm so he was understandably tired but willing to drive. About 50 miles south of Kansas City I asked him if he wanted me to drive and he said "If you want to". I said "Do you need me to?" He said yes and I told him to stop at the next gas station about 4 miles away. This was the plan but he only made it about two more minutes before I noticed the edge of the road was further away and two lanes of highway were on my right. How is this possible you ask. Well he was in the long center area meant for highway patrolmen to do a u-turn. I looked up and all I saw was grass from the center median and cars coming head on. I screamed and grabbed the wheel and he woke up all confused drove across two lanes of highway traffic then onto the shoulder where he said I can't drive anymore and jumped out of the car not even looking for cars. I obviously took over the driving after I sat on the shoulder totally freaked out in disbelief at what just happened. I drove about two hours then stopped at a hotel. Needless to say I did not sleep the whole entire way home and it was hard my head was bobbing and he kept telling me to go to sleep. Yeah right are you kidding me! It was a struggle since we had no sleep all week but I wasn't about to relive the prior incident and not be able to keep him awake! Thank God I didn't sleep on the way there or we might not be here today!!! Thank you Jesus!!! It gave new meaning to Jesus Take the Wheel

MY PANIC ATTACK

This can not possibly be happening to me! Why? What are the odds? I've never even talked to anyone else who has experienced this trauma. This could cause me to breakdown soon. It happened again! I am not lying, exaggerated and in no possible way is this humorous to me!! If you read my blog you know this happened last year then again a couple of nights ago and it happened again! I am in TOTAL disbelief! At least I have a witness this time so they can't all say I am crazy! About 15 minutes ago I was relaxing watching So You Think You Can Dance amazed by the dancing abilities of the young dancers wishing I could do the same when I spotted a spider. It was not as large as they have been so I took a deep breath took off my flip flop and hit it. Oh dear Lord above are you just punishing me for something by constantly using my fear of spiders!!! IT HAPPENED AGAIN! If this has happened to anyone other than me please let me know so I can not feel so alone and weird. Little tiny baby spiders flew everywhere! I was hitting them with the flip flop but the little bit of air from me frantically swatting the shoe was sending the tiny things in all directions. I screamed about five times for Martez - nothing! I decided to go get the windex and when I returned I sprayed the babies and when I went to spray the momma spider she was GONE! All I can say is !@$#%$^!#$#!@%^!!!! Right about then when I am in full panic mode - looking everywhere, hopping around, shaking and breathing extremely fast! This has never happened to me before but I think my thoughts of the spiders taking over no matter how irrational are becoming overwhelming! This just doesn't happen to anyone especially not THREE times!!!!! Seriously! Martez walks in from locking our outside gate and I went in to hysterical mode and made him move all furniture around the area until we found her, killed her and the rest of her demon spawn. The exterminator is getting my call 1st thing in the morning because my next Friday appointment is NOT soon enough and if they can't come tomorrow then I will call every exterminator in town until I find one that can. If I don't find one who can come tomorrow I may need to search for a doctor who does house calls for heavy sedation in the obviously high possibility it happens to me again!!!! I am not going to say it can't happen again because I said that the first and second time and it still happened a third time so I am keeping my mouth shut. That reminds me - I begin thinking each time this happens that if I hadn't killed each one of those momma spiders and the hundreds of little spiderlings they would be EVERYWHERE just multiplying uncontrollably. Which then in turn brings me to the awful fact my friend Melanie told me awhile back - did you know humans occasionally swallow spiders in their sleep and it adds up over your lifetime? How evil is she to tell me that?!?!!? Imagine how many spiders I have swallowed in the past year alone living in the "Spider Breeding Grounds"! @!$!#%$@!@ Well I am going to brush my teeth no telling how many spider guts are there from accidentally biting down in my sleep then I am going to duct tape my mouth shut and go to bed! Right about now is where Melanie being her sweet self comments me to tell me "Don't worry if you tape your mouth shut they'll just go in your ears or up your nose!" So thank you Mel in advance for the thoughtful comment I know you will send me!!!

NOT AGAIN!

If you read my blog or know me even a little, you know I have an immense fear of spiders! Do they really have a purpose other than to crawl around making webs everywhere and scaring people? NO! Well it happened to me again and I can't believe it. This morning at 1:48am I was attacked by the little demon spawn. I was walking, barefoot mind you, through my living room to take Moose our dog out and don't ask me why I don't exactly know why all the sudden he wanted to go out. I saw a brown blob on the floor and thought it might be a spider. I kept walking thinking it wasn't then turned to take a second glance. I got creeped out at the fact I could've stepped on it with my barefoot. Guess who won't be barefoot in the dark anymore - ME! Anyway I grabbed my husband's shoe and hit the spider then low and behold it happened. Little spiders ran everywhere! If you've read my previous spider blog you know wolf spiders carry their spiderlings on their back and this exact situation happened to me before. I flipped! I gasped for air like I had been drowning in a pool, hit the hundreds of spiders who were running desperately for their little evil lives but there were too many and they just still kept running everywhere. I am itching everywhere just talking about this! I was yelling expletives I wouldn't normally say and hopping around like a kid on hot cement. A little "honey are you okay?" came from my room. "Hell no I am not ok, does it sound like I am ok" I yell back. Does he come to rescue me? NO! "Is it a spider?" he replies. "Well I would hope that it's not a murderer since you aren't running in to save me and NO it is not A spider it is hundreds of them trying to carry me off to spiderland!" "So did you kill them?" he asked. NO answer from me! Needless to say I wasn't happy at all!!!!! Note to husbands: if your wife is gasping for air, beating something and screaming expletives, RUN don't walk to help her! Don't just lay in bed! What is funny to me is we rarely ever argue and I know people say that all the time but we really don't however this really ticked me off! I am SERIOUSLY scared of spiders and he knows this plus he was awake! That's it, nothing else well scorpions but what are the chances they would be in my house! Not heights, not snakes, nothing else so why can't I have a family full of my very own spider killers not just my five year old son who is unable to help me in the wee hours of night. I guess that would be why I am calling the exterminator today! I asked myself over and over and over again WHY! Then my mind just went nuts: Does this happen to everyone? What are the odds that in one year I would have to kill two mother wolf spiders with hundreds of tiny creepy vermon on their backs besides the normal spiders I have to kill? Why couldn't this one have just been in the garage like the other one? Are their more momma spiders with babies IN MY house? Why did God create spiders? Do I have a tiny sign in front of the house that says "Welcome to spider breeding grounds"? If I wouldn't have killed her and the babies would I literally have hundreds of wolf spiders in my house who would then in turn make hundreds more and they would just take over? Ooooooo...that one did it! By now it was 3:15 am, my legs, ears, nose, arms everything was red from my nails digging at the creepy crawlies that had taken over my body. I jumped in the shower and scrubbed like never before! I am a little tired today and still a little bitter that no one came to my rescue!

THE CREEPY CRAWLIES

Hang on this one will probably be long! The only ones who will appreciate this one are Melanie who knows me TOO well and anyone who shares my fear of spiders!! So it was a typical monday at work yesterday. Some freak glitch in the computer screwed up inventory so I have to do the orders by hand, we are shorthanded and two people are at lunch. We have a scorpion at work that had 14 babies that lay on their mothers back. The mom is black and all the little babies are white and it looks really creepy!! I don't like scorpions. So this little girl comes up to me looking all sad saying she thinks the scorpion and the babies are dead. Knowing the scorpion is probably sitting there tired of holding 14 babies on her back - who wouldn't be - I tell the little girl this. Her and her grandmother say they've been watching it for a while and none of them have moved. Well I try to get out of the situation saying I don't have a key to the room while I am pulling the door. As luck would have it, it wasn't locked so I said oh well I'll go check. I searched frantically for something to poke the scorpion with to make it move but knowing I can't hurt the scorpion because for some odd reason the little girl is really concerned. As luck would have it again there wasn't anything in there. So I decided to just stick my hand in there and gently move the piece of wood in the cage. The freaking thing moved all right and raised it's pincher thing. So I jumped out of my skin, screamed and ran out of the room which looked highly professional by the way!! But it made the little girl happy - I don't know which made her happier me running and letting out a little scream of terror or the fact that the scorpion and its babies were alive! This experience reminded me of my "SPIDER NIGHT OF TERROR"! Do do do do!! So here is the real story I intended on telling: I have a great fear of spiders! I don't mind snakes or lizards except tokay geckos but I really have a serious fear of spiders even the tiny ones. Well awhile back we were having a big problem with REALLY big spiders in our house. They were wolf spiders and man were they big. We had the house exterminated and still had big spiders. Man they were big at first I thought they were tarantulas until I learned they were wolf spiders. They jumped at us when we tried to kill them. Talk about terrified!! So I was going out to the garage to do some laundry at about 1am one morning because I never sleep. There was an unusually larger spider sitting on a ledge and I decided instead of killing the spider I was going to trap it in some kind of container to prove to everyone how big our spiders were and to show the exterminator who I was going to have come out again!! Okay so after staring at the nasty thing for a long while trying to get up enough courage to get the spider in the container before it devoured me, I discovered something on its back about an inch tall. I couldn't figure out what it was so I knocked it off the ledge to go into the container and ##$!%!%#$!#. I couldn't believe my eyes there were little tiny tiny baby spiders going everywhere. Hundreds of them literally!! Imagine my terror!! Little did I know momma wolf spiders can carry like 300 babies or something on their back! I threw the lid on the container and shook in fear and disbelief. Then all I could think of was to kill them all. I grabbed every spray I could get my hands on and sprayed it all over the area killing the tiny little demon spawn!! Then all I could think was all these tiny tiny babies were going to escape the container so I had to spray inside the container and the mom jumped I jumped but I reigned!! They all died! I had to take a shower because I felt like they were crawling all over me! I left the container in the garage with a protective barrier of pestisides around the container to catch any escapees. Long long story short the exterminator came out again and I proved how big our spiders really were and that I wasn't exaggerating! Man I hate those creepy crawly critters!! It could be worse though my son used to be afraid of black crickets because my husband once told him they were bad luck! He got over that though when my mom told him they make great pets and now he catches them all and tries to keep them! Thanks mom!! I never realized how many black crickets were around until we had a bunch of cricket pets!! We also have a black cricket cemetary!!
