5 decisions from this past week

5. If Moose won't runaway on his own, then he may need help! He is an idiot after all!

4. Breathing through the nose would be a great idea!! I would love love love to be able to breathe through my nose! My nose has failed me yet again folks or maybe it is this allergen ridden state!

3. No insurance...sucks! No job....sucks! Doctors cost too much money! I need a job like NOW to save my sanity!

2. That noise in my car is not going away but in fact getting louder! Hmm.....

#1

I think my second grade son has too much homework! That or we have too little time! The entire second grade is on the same plan but for some reason my son doesn't understand why he has to go to school all day then do homework every night! Hmm......I wonder what the other mothers think?

WW ~ I'M A BIG BOY NOW.......NOT SO FAST WEE ONE!!

Isaiah cried for a week because one the older boys started school a week before him and that just isn't fair and two he did NOT want new teachers. Finally, on Aug 18th it was his time to start Pre-K and boy was he excited. I failed to mention to him that only one of his friends from the three year old class would be in the 4 yr old program with him purposely trying to ease the transition knowing that he would make new friends. Why announce this little tidbit and face the meltdown? Motherhood ~ gotta love it!! So here he is my big boy ready for his first day of Pre-K a few weeks ago...

I can NOT believe my BABY will be in Kindergarten next year. I know that is a full year away but it just makes me sad. I don't think you realize the "they grow up so fast" quote until it feels like they went from 3 months to 4 years in NO time at all!! Hubs had a minor meltdown once he realized Zay was in Pre-K after he came home from school to tell us about his day. I thought Hubs might cry but alas he just sat in deep thought then hugged HIS boy!!

Isaiah has wanted to be FIVE since the day he turned three. He seriously is obsessed with turning five. I guess five is a huge milestone to him in that you finally become a BIG KID! While cooking dinner a few nights ago, Zay came in and said, "Mommy, do you know why I like being four?" I said, "No why?" He responded with "because that means I am finally almost five!" My response, "Don't rush things baby boy! You just turned 4!"

5 things that made me feel old this week

5. Little man said something hilarious and by hilarious I mean truly laugh out loud belly laugh funny. My instant thought was "oh I HAVE to blog this". I washed the boys then walked ten steps to the computer and completely forgot what he had said. How did this happen? Kids suck the brain cells right from you while in the womb ~ this is the only answer I could come up with! I tried asking the boys and neither one remembered. How did this happen? They sucked up my bad memory brain cells...poor little guys! It is weird though because I have the memory of an elephant!

4. I am trying to decide whether or not to return to school and take up radiology. Long term/future wise ~ a better financial decision BUT while walking up to the school and seeing all the youngsters my mind kept saying, "Go in....you can do this......you are only getting information!" My stomach and bowels had a completely different outlook on the situation. My thoughts went a little like this........What will I wear the first day of school? Why am I so out of breath just walking the campus? Will I pass out before I reach the front door? I can't wait to get a cool backpack. Ooooo I want a laptop! Will I make friends? Will everyone call me Grandma? Do I really care what they think? Do I have time for this crap?

3. After my third visit to the college, I finally talked to an advisor who appeared to be half my age!

2. While talking to said advisor I had to ask: I went to college back in 94-96. Will those courses transfer or are they too old? He said, "Let me see that was....{computing years in his head}......FIFTEEN years ago but yes they will transfer!" So I think he just computed the years to make me feel bad. Jerk!
#1
I have to get both high school and college transcripts for enrollment purposes IF I decide to go back to school. The college transcript was easy and took all of five minutes. Good thing I got that since it has all my basics done except one class....maybe two. So then I went to the Board of Education building to find out how to get my high school transcript for college. I think I have a copy but where is a whole other story! When asked what year I graduated, I said 1994. Her response, "Ooooohhhh how fast do you need it? Just call this number and ask for the registrar's office. She will have to go to the storage facility and look through all the archives!"
ARCHIVES!
OUCH!
My sister laughed at this story until I said, "Hey you are 6 years older! Your transcript is filed under ancient history in a museum basement of historical documents!"

END OF SCHOOL PICNIC

I went to a picnic with over 500 children!!
Just the idea made me think what you are probably thinking.....
HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND??
I took Isaiah along for Elijah's end of school all school picnic. We took McD's to Elijah. Elijah didn't seem too interested in sitting with me at the picnic so I actually ate with some of the other abandoned Mothers!! I took Zay knowing some of his little friends were going to be there also. Zay ran off and when I went to find him I found this:

Elijah was leading Isaiah around the playground.
I thought I was going to cry!
I know they are VERY close but I also know that they have been fighting like crazy lately so this image warmed my heart. This is the best shot that I got since they were moving and I was trying to get closer. The picture I wanted didn't turn out but they were walking with Elijah's arm around Zay's shoulder and Zay's arm around Elijah's waist. It would've been an awesome pic but alas most of them were not in focus! ugh! I told Elijah I would keep an eye on Zay since this was the last time he would see some of his friends for a few months. He would run off and play then always come back to play with Zay who was happy as a clam! Aw they really do love each other!!
We were there for about two hours. It was cloudy but a very nice day ~ not too hot, good gusts of wind and yet sunny enough for ME TO GET SUNBURNT!! Ah the joys of being caucasian!!
It was really hard to get pics of Elijah with his friends' since they were among the over 500 children running wild but I did manage to get ONE..
I really had a great time but of course that could be b/c I had actual adult conversation!! I love talking with the other Moms!! Since they weren't doing any actual learning this day I checked Elijah and Avani out of school when I left then took the three of them to the park to play until it was time to pick Tez up from school. They loved this idea!
Avani and Elijah with their "The Thinker" fire power impression from Night at the Museum 2!

Elijah, Avani and Isaiah ~ aren't they a cute bunch!!
Avani ended up spending the night that night.....
.....how do I get myself into these things!!

WW ~ I'VE ALWAYS KNOWN HE'S AMAZING!!

I've known since the day I laid eyes on him that he is amazing!

To his flipping around action in my belly during surgery while I was six months pregnant to his 82 yard touchdown

HE ROCKS!!

My theory of his amazingness (yes I know that is not an actual word) was proven during his school awards ceremony. Although I am proud of all his educational awards, the award I am most proud of is...

....his Citizenship Certificate because it honors his character and my skills as a parent or so I like to think!!

The Citizenship Certificate is given to the cream of the crop in recognition of exemplary behavior and valuable services rendered to the staff and classmates both in and ouside of class WITHOUT having to be told to do so.

THAT'S MY BOY!!

CON"GRAD"ULATIONS JOSH!!

Joshua, Mikala's husband.............
ok wait.....
Mikala is my niece. Mikala is married to Josh. Now does this make Josh my nephew-in-law which sounds wierd to me or is he just my nephew????
One of those "things that make me go hmmm......".......are you singing?
ANYWAY....
Josh graduated and they have accepted a position in Indiana so they are moving. I have mixed emotions! Sad they will be further away especially since I see children in the not so distant future. Happy they found a position. Most of all I am PROUD they have the courage and faith to move oh so far away to begin the next chapter of their lives together.

Memorial Day weekend we went to Josh's ordination ceremony here in town.
This is my brother Curt, Mikala, Josh and my sister-in-law Karen.
It's funny to me when I refer to Karen while typing I always naturally type "sister" then I realize you might think my brother and sister are married SO I quickly fix that so the blogging world doesn't get confused ~ I laugh every time!!

The cake was awesome! It had Philippians 3:7-11 written in icing! Way cool and probably extremely tedious to do!!

Congrats Josh and take care of my girl!!
Wait....he doesn't even read this!
Oh well!
Love you guys!

SUPER KIDS DAY

Remember the Super Kids Day event at Elijah's school that was giving me a bad case of volunteering remorse due to my aching feet?

Well I survived!
It was hot but a fun "track and field" day event for the kids last week!
He did really well in all events and I am still claiming that he gets all athletic ability and success from none other than MOI!!
Oh how that makes me laugh!!

His attempt at the sack race was nothing short of hilarious!!

His teacher joined in on the sack races!!

Not me!

She looks great she has lost something like 40 some pounds!

I asked her how and she was trying to explain how it was from some infomercial until I was clueless then she claimed to have a tapeworm!

I have got to get me one of those!!

First I want to apologize to last week's players! I ALWAYS READ YOUR POSTS AND APPRECIATE YOU PLAYING ALONG! I also always comment! I did read your posts; however, I had a few computer problems throughout the weekend. It kept freezing up or telling me something about some server something THEN shut down internet explorer!! Yes those are all technical terms (I am highly technical after all! lololol) so I am sorry if you don't understand! I fixed everything (I believe!) and planned to go back to comment BUT this week has been crazy with a birthday party, Ordination ceremony, Memorial Day cookout, school awards ceremonies and too many end of year school activities so needless to say I did NOT get back to comment! Sorry about this and I will get to your posts/comments this weekend I promise PLUS I have a ton of blogging to do so stay tuned!! Love ya'll!
5 great things about my day yesterday
5. I woke up and realized it was the boys' last day of school! Elijah is a BEAR to get up in the mornings......don't know where he gets it! I am so looking forward to him waking up ON HIS OWN and well I like to sleep in so this is good too!! I might change my mind about the "being home for the summer" thing so stayed tuned for many moments of me wishing he was back in school!!
4. A picnic with 500 summer crazed students.......sounds crazy but I had a blast!! More on that to come soon......
3. I took the kids home from school early then took them to the park to play until we had to pick up Tez. THEN we went home and played outside for 3.5 more hours!
2. Going through Elijah's yearbook with Elijah and Avani ~ they CRACKED ME UP! Their stories were priceless! More on this coming soon too......

5 things I wish I would have said NO to ~ volunteering regret
5. I helped with two valentines class parties in a matter of hours. First with a class of three years old who passed out TONS of valentines ONE BY ONE but ONLY ONE child passing them out at a time. Talk about snail speed! Then off to a class of first graders coming in from recess and on a serious sugar high. In total I spent about four hours with almost 40 kids hyped up on excitement and mass quanities of sugar. This is truly not recommended for those close to insanity or those who do not like loud enclosed spaces full of mindless chatter!
3. Being team Mom of our basketball team.....guess who will never volunteer to be a Team Mom EVER again!!
2. The 1st grade field trip to Bounce U ~ the smell of 100 bare feet and "kid sweat" was enough to make me want to gag!
#1
I spent almost 12 straights hours cleaning yesterday. NO my house is not that of a pack rat nor is it filthy. Most of the cleaning was unnoticeable for instance cleaning out inside of cabinets and about a billion other things that you don't do routinely PLUS a ton of routine cleaning!
My feet are killing me!
I have plantar faciitis and no that is not plantars wart but instead some tendon ordeal. The only part I understand completely about the condition is it is extremely painful at times. I am in some major pain that is due to being either barefoot or wearing flip flops that I am not supposed to wear while walking around this house a billion times over the 12 hr cleaning extravaganza. You can not tell a person who loves being barefoot or in flip flops not to do that when I've done it my whole life. It sucks! This is making me seriously regret volunteering for Super Kids Day tomorrow at Elijah's school ~ kind of a miniature track and field kids running wild event. I so don't want to help tomorrow but in my effort to be the "involved parent" I plan on being I get a bad case of "Yes Syndrome"! If asked to volunteer at one of the schools, I become the world's worst liar and can't think of any reason not to volunteer until after I've said Yes! Lord, help me!!
Don't forget to grab my handy dandy little button for your post!!

SMALL TALK SIX!

6 things you always wondered about any of your teachers or professors when you were in school
  1. Did they love school?
  2. Were they cursed with tons of homework as students and now this is their time for payback?
  3. Do they really love the subject they teach so much that they are willing to get paid next to nothing just to teach others about it?
  4. Why do they care if I am late since they know they were late too now and then? I am sure those ten minutes or so I missed didn't screw up my entire education! As you can tell, I had my fair share of tardies!!
  5. Do they want to punch the jerks and divas as bad as I do and tell them to get a life?
  6. Why do some teachers punish the entire class when the troublemaker screws up yet again? Do they not realize we already get annoyed by them and this just makes the hatred run deeper? I know this is probably the point they are trying to make to the troublemaker but you should know by now THEY DO NOT CARE what we think and will cause trouble regardless of how we feel!!!

HE LIKES TO MOVE IT MOVE IT!!

Last week......wait.....maybe it was the week before......they are all running together nowadays.....anywhoochie(See Shan I could use it daily!)......Isaiah's class did their spring program at school. They do the program for two days in a row since some children don't go everyday. The first day I completely forgot was unable to attend but trust me I heard ALL about it! Apparently, Isaiah and Nick had quite the conversation that was the laugh of the hour. It went a little something like this: Nick said something to which Isaiah said, "Are you talking to me?" said with a Different Strokes type accent then they both kept saying it back and forth since all the parents thought it was hilarious! So glad sad I wasn't there!!

The second day had its moments but much better! Every time Zay has a program it just reminds me of all the differences between him and Elijah. When Elijah went there, he would either just sit there OR do the motions but yawn instead of sing! Nice! So proud! I swear people thought he never went to bed. Isaiah on the other hand is quite the ham ~ imagine that! He loves to be the center of attention and he LOVES music, dancing and playing instruments! Every thing started out good......

He performed his Michael Jackson impression!

Just kidding!
The glove was for some ladybug song which he sang and did all the motions to.....woohoo!

He showed the crowd that he has some "hops" during the bunny song!

THEN......

.........see the little boy sitting next to him? This is his fellow troublemaker Nick. They have a love/hate relationship. They love playing with each other but hate when the other gets more attention. They are great friends and they crack us parents and teacher up. Right before this photo the class was singing a song and smashing plastic plates together which was extremely loud and scared the crap out of a bunch of adults to the beat of the music. They were supposed to walk in a circle one behind the other.

Really?

Did they really expect Nick and Zay to do this without some trouble? I am a true believer that the entire program should be a sit and sing occasion! They were running around in and out of line of children walking in the circle then ran around in the middle of the circle. My reaction, "Whose kid is that?" and hid. The teacher finally stood and put them in line then proceeded to stand in the middle to make sure it didn't start again. They went back to sit on the taped line where Nick and Zay ended up sitting by each other.

BIG MISTAKE!

I thought, "oh this isn't good!"

Isaiah fell to the ground and said, "Oh Nick pushed me!"

Nick replied with, "No I didn't! You pushed me!"

They went back and forth as I am gave him THE LOOK and mouthed for him to zip it!

Then Nick said, "You have no self control Zay!"

His Mom gave him the look and then we had to smile!

It was another POT MEET KETTLE moment!!

5 Reasons you should READ
the papers your child brings home

5. To see if they did anything that you want to keep whether for them or you! There could be some creative masterpiece you want to hold onto until you die at which point they will wonder why you kept that weird art project of a purple turtle in a tree from kindergarten for so long!

4. To keep track of their grades, help them with homework and make sure they are not struggling without your knowledge

3. To make sure they did not get into trouble and are hiding the note at the bottom of the backpack
2. To sign and return necessary forms ~ permission slips, chaperone slips, volunteer slips, progress reports, etc.....

# 1
Because if you don't completely read the form you signed about a parent/teacher conference at 6:30pm on Thursday, then you can look like a complete idiot when you show up WITHOUT your child that you were SUPPOSED to bring with you!! Oops! Conference rescheduled for Friday morning!! I was wondering why she had requested a conference. I totally thought he must be behind in a certain area and I would leave the conference feeling like a bad Mom. Well, I did but for a different reason! You see apparently she requests this last conference every year so the students can show their parents around four seperate stations to show them new things they have learned this year! Oops! I TOTALLY missed that part on the form!! I thought parent/teacher conferences were merely for parents and teachers and this is where actually READING the form I signed would have come in really handy. Elijah telling me he was supposed to go to show me these stations they had practiced ALL WEEK would have been extremely nice before I left in a rush this evening instead of before bed tonight. UGH! READ WHAT YOU SIGN!

Note to self: Do not lie and say he must not have received that note because she will come back with "you signed it!" OUCH!

Don't forget to enter the contest before noon on Saturday Mar. 14th!

WRITER'S WORKSHOP WEDNESDAY: MR. PLOWMAN!

For this week's Writer's Workshop Wednesday I chose ~ write a letter to someone who bothered you this week! Not sure if this is allowed but I kind of switched it to a song that I have been singing and creating all day! I'm telling ya'll I'm sick in the head...hehe!

First of all it goes to the tune of Mr. Sandman.....you know the one.....Mr.Sandman, bring me a dream, make him the cutest that I've ever seen.....ok I will wait as you catch the tune and get your vocals ready...

.....still waiting because I know some of ya'll are googling to get the tune because when you had kids they sucked the brains and memory clear out of your head like they did mine! Why do you think I stopped with kid number 2? Besides ya'll know you originally started blogging so you wouldn't forget all the crazy cute things your kids do!.....

....ready, let's go.....

Mr. Plowman, we need to talk (bum bum bum bum)
I need a break so let's take a walk (bum bum bum bum)
Your plowing maaaaiiinn streets the sun melted (bum bum bum bum)
The cars behind you are getting pelted.
Plowman, I'm not alone
The Okie Mommss don't want to stay home
Please plow the right streets
Mr. Plowman we need to meet!

(bum bum bum bum bum........)

Mr. Plowman, YOU don't get it
I've had more fun just pinching my zits
The kids are bored, restless and fighty
The cabin fever symptoms are so mighty
Plowman, I'm not alone
The Okie Mommss don't want to stay home
Pleeeease plow the right streets
Mr. Plowman, we need to meet!

(bum bum bum bum bum........)

Mr. Plowman, (male voice: "Yessss!") us Mom's are real coollllll
but our ki-ids need back in school
The maaaaiinn streets are clear of all icy
so do the streets by homes it would be nicey
Sandman, please plow the bus routes (plow the bus routes)
Before the Okie Moms go on the outs
We'rrree going o-nn day three
Mr. Plowman plow them, please please please
Mr. Plowman plow the right streets!

Rough I know! I only changed it a kazillion times while singing the madness today after I saw the plows going down clear main roads and received a call cancelling school tomorrow yet AGAIN due to unclear bus routes! Not bitter! Not bitter at all I tell you!

For more Writer's Workshop Wednesday posts go to

WHAT NUMBER DO YOU CALL IN CASE OF A FIRE?

The first question asked by the fireman was "what number do you call in case of a fire?" Isaiah's answer, "my meme"! OOPS guess I better work on that one!
Wednesday the firetruck came to Isaiah's school of course I went to take pictures of the firemen....oops I mean the kids and firetruck! Isaiah was excited for days and I was able to use the firetruck at school for blackmail for awhile!! Woohoo I just love blackmailing my children! lol He had been in a firetruck before but for some reason he didn't want to get in this time. Finally he did but it took some coaxing. I think the one fireman in full fire attire may have freaked him out because he absolutely loves firetrucks...hmm...!

This pic was too cute not to include! Isaiah's friend ~ Chancellor

I just love his dimples!

FRIDAY FUN

Today was my day OFF and the first Friday I have done something for myself and by myself in a VERY long time. Although exhausting, it was nice!! Normally I take Tez to school then go to my Mom's to drop Zay off and sit for 30 aka finish getting ready before taking Elijah to school then going to work. Last week on Friday instead of going to Mom's I took the boys to Daylight Donuts to eat INSIDE and they loved it. I decided instead of going to my Mom's on Fridays since I take Zay to school Friday I would give her a break from us and start "Breakfast with the Boys" on Fridays. I will take them to eat breakfast aka probably weekly trip to the donut shop each Friday. However, my mom called still wondering where we were for the second Friday in a row so I guess she wasn't too bothered by us coming by when we didn't really need to!! Have I ever mentioned I just LOVE my Mom!! Anyway I took Elijah to school then went to Big Lots to waste time before Zay had to be at school. Bad idea and good idea! Good idea b/c I bought some of the stuff needed to complete the many projects I plan to do from being addicted to certain blogs! Bad idea b/c we ended up wandering and he was 30 minutes late for school ~ oops! I took Zay to school then unfortunately I heard the sad cry from Hobby Lobby ~ why does it have to be SO close to his school ~ wondering why I hadn't been there in forever. Yet another hour, maybe more, spent wandering getting more supplies for said projects when the darn scrapbook aisle SCREAMED my name! Sad sad day! Then I ran home to rescue my debit card from yesterday's jeans (Thank God I had cash on hand for my Hobby Lobby venture) and ran other errands - two party supply stores to look at Halloween costumes for the boys and baby shower decor for Chai's shower on Monday - when low and behold my car drove to Scrapbooks Galore n' More. Actually I HAD (called my sister and invited her) to meet my sister to give her a guided tour before she becomes an addict after she starts cropping with me! I just love her too! Then onto my two hour journey picking up 3 boys from 3 schools at 3 different sporadic times (not enough time in between to go home but far too long to sit around waiting in a hot car with current gas prices) - ugh! I am glad I only have to do the pick up routine once a week! It is daunting, however, we are going to have a chat about that since I spend almost 4 hrs on my day OFF just doing the drop off AND pick up routine when I don't have to!! Wow! Next I went home, fell asleep then went to eat with Chai and my boys! Yummy! Then a Wal-mart trip that only reminded me of WHY I DON'T TAKE MY BOYS TO GET GROCERIES!! Then onto looking at my current hopeful home on the internet and falling madly in love. Next, of course, you guessed it onto BLOGGER! More about the hopeful home after I see it this weekend!!!! Well I need to go to bed.....football tomorrow....

CARNIVAL TIME

So Monday was Isaiah's school carnival. Since Martez was at football with Elijah I decided to go ahead and take Isaiah just to be out of the house. He started WEE as a tiny 3month old and now my tee tiny baby is in the 3yr old class. Hold please.......ok! He started just one or two days a week to give my Mom a little break while I worked but now he goes all 4 days. For those few of you who are panicking about my child in daycare don't worry! WEE is actually more of a mother's day out program than a "daycare" facility and my boys have always LOVED it!!! Anyway he had a good time and got to see his friends.................

He rode the ponies!

Jumped in the Jupiter Jump

Ran & flipped through the obstacle course then played games for candy & prizes

Got his face painted (it's a kite)

THEN CAME THE NEWS...............................HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE NEXT BLOG!!!

A GUMBALL DAY

I picked Elijah up from school today and begin to ask him about his day at school.

Excitedly he says, "I had a gumball day at school today!"

"Wow," I reply, "what is a gumball day?"

"I even had to go to the Principal's office," he says with enthusiasm.

"WHY?" Naturally assuming it was for something he had done. Thoughts running through my head were I know I have issues with him sometimes at home but in public and at school he is very well behaved, what happened?!?!?!

"Well the teacher wrote me a note and told me to take it to the Principal's office. So I did and the Principal gave me a penny and I got to get a gumball out of the gumball machine. My teacher said she liked that I was listening, I was quiet when I supposed to be, helpful and nice towards others and working well while at my desk. So I had a gumball day! Here, you want the gumball?"

SUCCESSFUL MORNING #1

Broken Arrow schools started today and morning #1 of the school year was a success. I hate mornings and I am a total insomniac so mornings are my small version of hell. Elijah is just like me and a total bear EVERY morning. This morning he did okay since he was excited to see his school friends but I am positive that will end after a couple of days. I successfully managed to get myself, a 14yr old teenager, 6 yr old boy and a 3 yr old boy ready, fed, beds made, laundry folded and out of the house with all backpacks, lunches, school supplies and my best friend Fujio the camera by 7:25am after I fed Moose, Samson, Fievel and Lucy and watered the yard. I'm tired just talking about it! This will become less productive and awe inspiring as the school year progresses trust me! I then took the three boys to three separate places and walked my precious little 1st grader to class for his 1st day. I asked him if he wanted me to walk him in telling him it didn't matter to me and he said he didn't care but had a look as if he wanted me to. I then said if he "wanted" me to I would "help him carry all his stuff"! I hope you moms are reading between the lines......I didn't want him to feel alone but I didn't want him to think I thought he couldn't handle it but inside I was screaming please let me walk you in and promise to never grow up and leave me!!!!! I walked him in, chatted with the moms I knew and went to work just waiting to go home so I could hear all about his 1st day of 1st grade. Whether he likes it or not, he will always be my 1st baby! I also couldn't wait to hear if Tez got lost at South or if he found all his classes! Both boys were successful and Zay had a good time with Aunt Karen since Meme and Papa were in Illinois.

MEET THE TEACHER

Today was Elijah's "Meet the Teacher" day at school. He will be in 1st grade this year - WOW HOW TIME FLIES! He was excited to see about 4 or 5 kids from his kindergarten class in his new class especially Lauryn and Richie. I guess Lauryn was not excited with her teacher. She said, "She yells a lot!" I said, "what?" Her mom clarifies, "well that is the story that she yells a lot. I was in the class next door a few years ago and could clearly hear her yelling at the class BUT that was a few years ago and a lot can change in that time. I don't know why Lauryn says that b/c I've never told her that." This worried me because although I am fine with teachers disciplining my child who isn't a disciplinary problem in school anyway, I am not okay with a teacher who constantly yells and could make my son not like school anymore. I want him to enjoy school as much as he can and he does mainly because he loves to learn (for the time being!) and he loves to play with his school friends. He loved his kindergarten teacher and apparently she is very good friends with his 1st grade teacher who in fact used to visit his class pretty often last year. I talked to a few of the other parents I know with older children. They said she is stern and will not tolerate problem children however she is very good at teaching the children what they need to know and as long as your child is well behaved there shouldn't be any problems. I sure hope not. Wish me luck!

I NEEDED A MAP!

Today was schedule pickup for Tez at South Intermediate! I offered to take him since I went to South I would be able to show him around OR so I thought! From the second I walked into the door it felt rearranged which is highly likely since it had 16 years since I had been to anything besides the gym at South. I don't remember the office being where it was and the counselor's offices wait now that I am typing it......I am remembering.......they did move the offices and counselor's offices which could be the whole problem therefore ending my thoughts that I am getting old! hehe In my defense, it also could be that Tez is in all ID/remedial classes and I didn't have classes in that end of the school when I went there. So we go to the cafeteria to get the schedule and fill out the required paperwork and then starts my "off the wall out of the way tour"! I cracked myself up and I think I worried Tez a little. Poor guy is going to be so lost on his first day! So I am walking to his first class saying, "ok you are going to walk in the main doors, go to the cafeteria turn right, take the first left and go up the stairs then turn left and then left again and you are at room # 200 with a few "wait a second"s in between this turn and that turn! Wow I think I even confused myself! I then see there are stairs right next to his class door and decide to journey down them to see where they go.....the west end front door!! I then said, "Forget everything I just told you! I will drop you off at these doors so you will just walk in the door and go up the stairs for your first two classes!" He just smiled and looked confused so I said let's start all over and get another map! Poor me for having a failing memory of South and poor Tez for having to rely on my memory for a tour of his new school!
